Actively involve elementary school-age students in learning about water by inviting the Water Conservation Specialist into the classroom. The Water Conservation Specialist offers four unique presentations for students that are both fun and informative, and meet California State Content Standards. Teachers should sign up early for this popular program as presentations are limited and scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.  

Participating classrooms receive educational activity books to continue learning about water conservation, along with a pack of non-toxic soybean crayons and a pencil pack containing a pencil, eraser, and ruler, and a 5-minute shower timer (while supplies last).

REGIONAL WATER EFFICIENCY PROGRAM
The Santa Barbara County Water Efficiency Program (RWEP) was established by the Santa Barbara County Water Agency as a partnership among local water purveyors and the County.  Through the program, the Utilities Department, Water Agency, and 18 local water purveyors, collaborate and coordinates among each other:  all water conservation efforts,  co-funds projects and programs, acts as a clearing house for information on water efficiency within their city jurisdictions, manages specific projects and programs, and monitors local, state, and national legislation related to efficient water use.
