Myra Ritchie is a Water Conservation Specialist who has worked for the Utilities Department for more than 20 years. In her role, Myra coordinates with various agencies including local elementary schools to provide water conservation presentations covering all the aspects of the water cycle. Discussions include where the City’s water comes from and how to conserve water indoors and outdoors.

Myra is a frequent speaker at public events and workshops, and participates in the Santa Barbara County Regional Water Efficiency Program. During the month of May each year, Myra implements the annual Water Awareness Poster Contest for 3^rd grade students enrolled in the Santa Maria-Bonita School District. In addition to her role in educating the community about water conservation, Myra also offers complimentary residential home water evaluations within City limits.
